BMW R75 abandoned

This will be my new winter build.
BMW R75 from ESCI in 1/9 scale.
Instead of the Wehrmacht version i will build the bike as abandoned civilian version.
Colour black with striping.
It will display lots of rust, grime, missing parts, and dents.
Stay tuned for more.

Stoßtruppen 1/9 bust finished

...couple shots with the light background:

Stoßtruppen 1/9 bust painting.

Started painting the bust.
First i took care of the face, and helmet.
I added the specs. Specs were soldered, and glass is made using Micro Kristal Klear.

Uniform was painted to replicate the grainy look of fabric. Green- gray texture of the wool.
Glass of the mask still setting.

Stoßtruppen 1/9 body sculpting

Started by sculpting the basic shape of the upper body.

Added more details like the grenade sacks, collar, shoulder tabs, and shovel

Finished adding the details. Figure is done now.

,,,bust cast in resin:

Stoßtruppen 1/9 - Gewehr 98

Gewehr 98 needed to be scratch built, as there's no alternative in scale.
I made the gun over 2 evenings out of wood, brass, and styrene.
It consists of 18 individual parts.

Once i sculpt the body of the bust i will cut the gun to required length to suit.

Stoßtruppen bust 1/9

While still working on the SdKfz 7/1 i started sculpting the bust.

BMW R75 finishing touches

Due to the size of the model i opted for the flat base.
I made it on the diploma frame.
For mud i made the mix of Woodland Scenics Plaster, acrylic resin, white glue, water, and pigments.
Painted it flat brown, and washed with dark wash.
Some highlights applied using buff colour.
Some wet effects, and puddles to follow.

BMW R75 weathering

Weathering stage started with dry mud application.
I used MIG Acrylic Resin mixed with dry mud pigments to add volume.
Then i sprayed the lower parts with dry mud pigments mixed with water.
Sealed using MIG pigment fixer.
For the very bottom parts i used Wet Effects to simulate the wet mud.
I will add more wet mud when the bike will find its place on the base.

BMW R75 wiring

Completed the wiring of the bike.
All the cables, wires, and fuel lines done.
Last pictures before the sidecar assembly, and weathering with mud.
