FT 17 creating the base

Decided to add the second figure to minimise the empty space around the tank.
Used some body parts from the spare box, and combined them into the shape of the rider.
Now i will shave the plastic, and start sculpting the kradmantel.
Motorbike is an Zundapp K800 from Swash design.
Hornet heads, and hands.

Ground was made using Woodland Scenics plaster, some soil, and white glue.

Plants,  trees, and grass added.

Sculpting the motorcyclist figure.

Belt, straps, sling, shoulder pads, and buttons still to add.

Started painting the figures by applying the acrylic base coat.

SdKfz 7/1 painting the running gear

Base of Hull Red:

My own mix of Panzer Grey:

Engine, gearbox, and tranny painted flat black:

Highlights:

Engine manifold painted mix of matte varnish, and pigments. Engine drybrushed Chrome, and gearbox drybrushed Flat ALuminum:

Gloss Varnish followed by wash. Some dirty streaking done. Engin treated to Engine Grime:

Bottom part sprayed transparent Buff:

My own mix of yellow. Front wheels painted freehand- because i wanted bit of overspray on. Rear wheels painted with masks.

Another custom mix of green, and brown.

Light filters on rubber elements.

Two types of grass from Woodland Scenics, some leaves, damp earth enamel, wet effects, Plaster of Paris, and grinded dry grass was mixed to create wet, thick paste. I used it to smear in the hard to reach places, where the mud dried longer.

Few oil stains around the wheel seals completed the job.

Citroen 2CV Furgonnette- water pouring

I set the car on the base, painted the river bottom, added the branches, and poured some water.
I used the Woodland Scenics Realistic Water mixed with Olive Drab, and some Buff.
I hope when it sets the froth will remain.

Kettenwagen- the base

Finally after 3 years on the shelf i finished the base.
I used the granite stone for the base, and sanded the lettering in.
VW logo was cut from the polistyrene, painted and weathered to look like rusty wartime piece.

Due to the size of the model i opted for the flat base.
I made it on the diploma frame.
For mud i made the mix of Woodland Scenics Plaster, acrylic resin, white glue, water, and pigments.
Painted it flat brown, and washed with dark wash.
Some highlights applied using buff colour.
Some wet effects, and puddles to follow.
